MotusAcademy’s DISCOVERY Programme Empowers Budding Rehab Professionals

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA 23rd August 2023 – Being at the forefront of providing continuing education in rehabilitation technology, MotusAcademy conducted a workshop under their DISCOVERY Programme. The full-day programme saw the participation of over 20 students pursuing their Bachelor’s Degrees in Physiotherapy from Inti International University.

Aiming to provide an inclusive experience for participants, the recent workshop enabled a comprehensive coverage of the solutions available in the market. Various device demonstrations covering the full rehabilitation spectrum for upper, lower, balance and movement solutions were conducted during the full-day program.

In addition, participants were also allowed to gain valuable insights through knowledge sharing by experts in the field. Special guest Ms. Ying Sii Gen, Occupational Therapist at Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care, attended the event and shared her industry experience as a therapist. Understanding the need for better knowledge sharing, MotusAcademy also partners with multiple individuals known as PACERS. Consisting of highly acclaimed professionals, they spread across various regions and assist in promoting rehabilitation technology adoption to the public, hospitals, and other clinicians.

With a combination of expert and industry partnerships, we aim to facilitate knowledge-sharing, create new research opportunities, and drive industry growth. Combining our expertise can bridge the gap between clinical applications and patient acceptance, but to achieve this, we must first empower upcoming professionals through exposure. This will allow them to gain the knowledge needed and allow for accelerated and widespread adoption of these technologies,” said Zen Koh, Co-founder & Executive Director of MotusAcademy.

Throughout the full-day programme, students were actively engaged in various activities, enabling them to grasp the entire concept of advanced rehabilitation technology effectively. Overall, students expressed satisfaction with the programme, highlighting exceptional interest in the hands-on session with the devices.

Since its launch in May 2022, MotusAcademy has been on track in leading education for rehabilitation technology through various on-ground and online initiatives.
